In Romania, over 700 measurement points have been installed for groundwater and surface water monitoring—with precise STS pressure technology for reliable data transmission, alerts, and long-term stability.
A reliable measurement infrastructure is essential for a safe drinking water supply and flood protection. Under the leadership of STS and partner MDS Electric Srl, a comprehensive monitoring system has been implemented in Romania—with battery-powered sensors, automatic alerting, and state-of-the-art data transmission.
Romania sources its drinking water largely from the Danube River and groundwater wells. To sustainably protect these resources, a nationwide system has been developed over several years:
Each measurement point was evaluated individually to tailor the configuration—taking into account soil conditions, infrastructure, and transmission requirements. The following were used:
All devices are designed for low-maintenance operation, even under fluctuating temperatures, weak infrastructure, and over extended periods.
The system offers:
The DTM.OCS.S/N impresses with:
Thanks to its low power consumption and high robustness, the sensor is ideal for autonomous energy systems—and provides reliable data even under challenging conditions.
With the project in Romania, STS demonstrates how modern pressure measurement technology contributes to securing water supply and protecting against natural hazards. Together with local partners, large-scale monitoring systems can be implemented effectively and sustainably.
